Luangpor Dhammavuddho came to Penang and spent some time at his usual cave in 2014. I took the opportunity and asked if I could have some short interviews with him. He agreed.
I had an old video camcorder and was inexperienced. Luckily the interviews turned out fine and the voice quality was acceptable.
That was in 2014. Luangpor passed away a few years later.
Some time in 2019, I heard about the shocking news and called Luangpor. The comforting response was that he was not worried. If he was not worried, then why should anyone be worried? From the time he discovered his illness, it took just a few months before he was succumbed to it.
The last time I saw and spoke to him was at the hospital in Ipoh on the 10th December 2019. He remarked some inspiring words, and that was also the last time I paid my respect to Luangpor. He passed away on the 22nd December 2019.
Since then, these short interviews I recorded in 2014 became most precious. I hope they will benefit future generations.
With the release of this interview “Luangpor Dhammavuddho Described His Practices In The Dhamma-Vinaya,” I have completely published all the short May 2014 interviews with him. There are other questions & answers and ad hoc videos captured in 2014, but their publications will be some other time, maybe.
Also, the publication of this video is in conjunction with the coming first anniversary commemoration of Luangpor Dhammavuddho. I hope you will find it useful and inspiring.
